Meet Matt Winston

Matt was born and raised in the Western Foothills of Maine and graduated from Mountain Valley High School. It was at M.V.H.S. that Matt was able to obtain his Class A Commercial Drivers License. That which was made possible through what was then known as Northern Oxford Vocational regional Assoc. (N.O.V.A.) Region 9.

Following high school, Matt attended Maine Maritime Academy where he was a member of The Regiment of Midshipmen, a member of the Drill Team, as well as a participant in the Naval R.O.T.C. program. It was in Castine while attending MMA that he was introduced to the Fire Service.

During his first 2 years of collegiate education that Matt was introduced to Transportation by utilizing his CDL by working during vacations, breaks, and Summertime.

In the following 30 years Matt has logged over 1.5 million safe miles hauling Household Goods (as a company driver and as an owner operator), HVC & Logistics, as well as many years operating motor coaches in the Charter Bus industry.

Matt brings to Brown Dog over 3 decades of excellence in Customer Service as well as the in depth understanding of transportation from the professional driver perspective.

At the age of 40, Matt became a Pro Board certified Firefighter and in his spare time continues that commitment to helping others by being an active member of his local fire department as a volunteer firefighter. He lives in Southern Maine with his wife, 2 step daughters, and his German Shepard.
